Resolve your symptoms holistically with 1:1 support

My Approach

Functional nutrition with as much emphasis on your nervous system as the rest of you

I believe in a holistic view of health that recognizes our that our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing is interconnected, as well as deeply affected by the power structures and systems that we exist within.

I strive to create an inclusive, trauma-aware, client-centered business with anti-oppressive, abolitionist values and am committed to showing up for my clients and my community to the best of my ability.

My Services

I work one-on-one with clients who want to use nutrition and lifestyle interventions to improve their digestive issues, autoimmune conditions, and hormone- or reproductive-related concerns like endometriosis, PCOS, fertility, pelvic pain, fibroids, PMS/PMDD, and period problems.

I have a virtual practice and welcome clients from anywhere in the United States, of any gender.

My services are highly personalized to each client and paced according to your unique goals and needs. It’s important to note that functional nutrition counseling is a dynamic process that unfolds over time, and I tend to work with clients for a period of at least 6-9 months.

I offer a sliding scale to help make my services more accessible, and am committed a philosophy of holistic wellness that includes community care and collective liberation.

IIf you’re interested in becoming a client, please keep reading below for more details on how it works, my sliding scale, and FAQs.

How it Works

Your First Appointment

Our first appointment is a comprehensive 90-minute intake session.

Prior to our meeting, you’ll complete some questionnaires and a food journal so that I can get familiar with your goals and your full health history before we meet. During our appointment, you’ll have plenty of time to share your health concerns and your story without feeling rushed.

I’ll also review any recent lab work you may have available and share my perspective on your case.

Together we’ll start to make a plan that encompasses food, lifestyle, supplement and lab testing suggestions. We’ll also discuss a realistic timeframe for working together.

Each time we meet, you’ll receive a recap of the next steps that we discussed so you don’t have to worry about taking notes or trying to remember lots of details during our appointments.

After our initial intake session, you’re eligible to enroll in my membership program for ongoing support and monthly follow up sessions.

Monthly Follow-up Sessions

Ongoing support is offered as a monthly membership that includes one follow-up session per month (up to 60 minutes).

I’ve created the container of a monthly membership for ongoing, in-depth support because I’ve found it’s how I get the best results with clients.

You’ll be able to message with protocol-related questions between sessions, plus you’ll also receive access to specialty supplements, functional lab testing at cost, and a 20% discount on any supplements purchased through my Fullscript.com dispensary.

At each monthly appointment, we’ll continue to build on our work from previous sessions, moving at the pace that’s appropriate for you. If I’ve recommended any lab tests, we’ll review the results together so that you understand exactly what they mean from a more holistic perspective.

On average, I tend to work with clients on a monthly basis for 6-9 months, but it can vary based on your needs. We’ll discuss a realistic timeframe for working together, but you can cancel your membership at any time.

Testimonials

Sliding Scale

    • Tier 1, the full price, reflects the true cost of services rendered. It is for those who have access to financial security, own property, or have savings or investments. If you can comfortably meet your needs without much worry, are able to travel recreationally and easily afford rent, and are able to pay for “wants,” this price is for you.

    • Tier 2, the discounted middle rate, is for those who are situated somewhere in the middle. Neither Tier 1 nor Tier 3 accurately describes your situation. You may be struggling with debt, or living paycheck to paycheck despite being able to meet your basic needs.

    • Tier 3, the most deeply discounted rate, is for those who truly would not otherwise be able to access this service, who struggle to meet basic needs on a regular basis, or who regularly experience violence or discrimination as a result of race, gender identity, or disability, which in turn affects your ability to secure basic necessities.

  • It's important to me to provide inclusive and accessible services while also supporting my clients to the very best of my ability. I trust your ability to self-select the payment option most appropriate and in integrity with your needs while accounting for your privileges, access to resources, and any systemic barriers you may face. My services are the same regardless of which tier on the sliding scale you select.

This sliding scale template is inspired by and adapted from various models, including the Green Bottle Model from Worts & Cunning Apothecary, Simone Grace Seol, Little Red Bird Botanicals, Constellation Tattoo Collective, Ride Free Fearless Money, and Dr. Nicole Charles’s course Embodying Equity.

  • One-on-one functional nutrition counseling is a highly personalized process that requires a significant amount of education and skill, and a lot of behind-the-scenes time on the part of the practitioner. Further, the number of spots available in my practice is limited to a small number of clients each month in order to allow me to best offer the type of in-depth care and ongoing support that I’m committed to providing. Similar services can range from $500 - $1500 per month.

    • When you choose to pay full price, you’re paying an amount that reflects the true cost of my services. As such, you’re helping me comfortably support myself, allowing me invest in my business and ongoing education and to pay folks that I hire a living wage. You’re also making it possible for me to contribute to my community and helping to support those paying at the other end of the sliding scale.

    • When you choose the discounted middle rate, you’re helping me pay bills and cover the costs associated with operating a nutrition practice and maintaining my credentials and ongoing education.

    • When choose the most deeply discounted rate, you’re allowing your community to collectively come together to support you with the care you deserve.

All of these are acceptable ways of paying and there is no difference in services provided. I recognize that even with a sliding scale, my services may still be inaccessible to some, and if that’s the case I invite you to reach out so we can explore the possibilities for working together.

What to expect as a client

What you WON’T find here:

  • Manipulation tactics that attempt to motivate change through shame, guilt, or judgment (because when did those ever work??)

  • Any insinuation that your health conditions are your fault (they’re absolutely not!)

  • Unrealistic expectations or pressure to get things perfect (most of us are already putting WAY too much pressure on ourselves)

  • A narrow, rigid, or cookie-cutter approach to health (this is not conducive to wellbeing, hard stop)

  • A belief your body is “broken” and needs to be fixed (you’re whole just as you are)

  • A philosophy that attaches morality to food (food isn’t good or bad, right or wrong—it’s just food)

  • Help with weight loss (health comes in many sizes, and I’m much more interested in helping you with your health than with a number on a scale)

What you WILL find here:

  • Respect for your lived experience and the fact that you’re the best expert when it comes to your own body

  • A nutrition counseling process that acknowledges your full humanity and the reality of your circumstances, whatever they may be, and meets you exactly where you are

  • A nonjudgmental approach that fosters progress through consent, education, and a supportive client-practitioner partnership where you’re in the driver’s seat of your wellness plan

  • Honesty, transparency, and open communication: you’ll understand the “why” behind any suggestions and be able to use that information to make the decision that’s best for you

  • An understanding of health and wholeness encompasses body, mind, and spirit

  • An approach that prioritizes support for your nervous system, so that you can start to feel more grounded and in touch with your body

  • We work with adults age 20 or above, of any gender. We currently don’t work with children or teens, those with an active eating disorder, or anyone residing outside of the United States.

Additionally, our services aren’t a good fit for people who are:

    • Looking for a quick fix

    • Expecting a pill or supplement to resolve all their symptoms

    • Resistant to trying new things

    • Interested primarily in losing weight

    • Are currently pregnant

    • Vegan

That said, we strive to create an inclusive practice and believe a truly holistic vision of health and wellness not only recognizes and cultivates an individual’s capacity for growth and transformation, but also acknowledges the necessity of collective healing and liberation given the various systemic factors that impact our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

Some things we commonly help our clients with include:

    • Transitioning to a nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory diet

    • Guidance around figuring out what foods to eat (or avoid) in order to feel their best

    • Digestive issues like IBS, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, gas, heartburn, and reflux

    • Period problems and pelvic pain conditions, including irregular cycles, PCOS, painful periods, amenorrhea, PMS/PMDD, fibroids, and endometriosis

    • Supporting a smooth transition off hormonal birth control, or into perimenopause/menopause through targeted nutritional support

    • Fertility support prior to conception or in preparation for fertility treatments

    • Using food and lifestyle to address metabolic issues, including blood sugar dysregulation, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol

    • Nervous system support and overall resilience to stress

    • If we are not a good fit for working together, we will readily refer prospective or current clients elsewhere if we feel you’d be better served with more specialized care.

  • Unfortunately, not at this time. However, international clients can get on the waitlist to join our group program as soon as it launches–just email support@robinrandisi.com and we’ll add you to our list.

  • You are always in the driver’s seat when it comes to making decisions about your health and your food. Our job is to provide you with information and support. Any dietary recommendations are based on your goals and needs and provided with your consent.

Furthermore, food should taste good, even nutritious food! I fully recognize and honor the fact that for many of us, food is about more than just physical nourishment—it’s also about pleasure, connection, tradition, and culture.

In our clinical experience, sometimes removing foods can be useful and sometimes it can be harmful. It all depends on individual and the context of their unique situation. And while we may at times recommend therapeutic diets to clients if that’s appropriate and they’re open to it, ideally such interventions are only used short-term, with the eventual goal of getting to a point of being able to eat the most diverse and nourishing diet that also works for your body.

  • No, we’re not eligible to accept insurance. In some cases, it may be possible to use your FSA or HSA funds, but check with your health plan administrator prior to booking so that you’re clear on any required documentation you’d need in order to get reimbursed.

  • Yes, we offer comprehensive functional lab testing to clients when appropriate.

We often find it can be incredibly valuable clinically, when used judiciously (we’re not fans of any approach to functional medicine or functional nutrition that requires you to spend thousands of dollars up front on testing).

Testing options include stool testing for GI imbalances and the gut microbiome, food sensitivity testing, micronutrient testing, blood chemistry, and hormone tests.

Any recommendations for lab testing are tailored to each client’s needs and budget. The cost for these types of lab tests vary but tend to range from $300 - $400 each, and would discuss any options that might be appropriate for you during our 1:1 appointments.

  • No. When it comes to food, our goal is to help you reach a place where you feel connected to your body and confident in your ability to nourish yourself. That way you don’t need to rely on things like fad diets, internet advice, complicated meal plans (or even nutritionists for that matter!) to tell you what to eat.

But if meal plans are your jam, don’t worry! There are services and templates online that we can point you to.

    Here’s what we do provide:

    • Education around how to fuel yourself properly

    • Guidance around food sensitivities or food intolerances

    • Support finding nourishing foods that you like and that are easy to access or prepare

    • Help with specific options for meals and snacks

    • Strategies for any challenges that arise when it comes to feeding yourself

    • Ideas for foods emphasize or introduce into your diet

    • Guidance on how to tune into your body’s needs so you can take the guesswork out of what to eat on a day-to-day basis

  • No, that’s not an area of focus in our work. If weight loss is an important goal to you, our services will not be a good fit.

Our work with clients is focused on improving health, and the fact is that sometimes pursuing weight loss simultaneously can be at odds with a health-focused approach.

Instead, I emphasize creating strong foundations for the long-term health and wellbeing of my clients, and identifying and addressing any root causes directly or indirectly contributing to things like inflammation, metabolic issues, digestive dysfunction, and the like.

  • Yes, especially if you’re dealing with chronic issues.

We often strongly suggest specific practitioner-grade, high-quality supplements in order to help clients get the best results possible, especially in cases where we’ve identified areas of imbalance or deficiency, or when we’ve utilized functional lab testing.

However, a nutrient-dense, microbiome-supportive diet and lifestyle changes are the real foundation of our work.

Keep in mind that many supplements are meant to be used therapeutically for short periods only, and often it isn’t necessary to take a supplement forever.
